Teenage Clark changes into Superman to stop a fire

[Did ya finish? Didya finish? Didyafinish?]

Yes.

[Well?]

“Well?” What?

[What did you think of it? What did you think of Action Comics #1088?]

I thought it was…fire.

[Rolls eyes]

DC has really been hitting it out of the park lately. I’m really enjoying what’s been coming out. The Summer of Superman event has been great. All the stories feel very much Superman: fun, action, heart, and some humor.

I’m really liking these Superboy stories. It’s fun seeing Clark act like a teenager, like paying attention to the girl instead of class or telling his parents he doesn’t want to be seen being dropped off; and of course, the true sign of teenager-hood, the “Whatever.”

Ma and Pa Kent are great in this. They sound just like parents raising a regular teenager. Jonathan telling Clark that he can go for out for a “ride” if he keeps up with his homework and does his chores is classic.

[How about when Superboy is on his road trip?]

Laughs. Yeah, each place he visits he is seen rescuing someone and then you see him in the clouds with a map looking like, “Uh…where’s home?” Such great humor while not being ridiculous.

The artwork is very bright and fun. It’s also very fluid, more animated…more friendly.

[Who do you think—]

Whoa, man! Spoilers.

[Who are we spoiling? We both read it.]

But maybe not everyone out there.

[What “there”?]

The people reading this article.

[What article?]

Never mind. But I will say a spoiler is coming, but first…

5/5

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I hope DC continues with the awesome and that it doesn’t end at summer. (If the preview of DC KO is any indication, we’ll be all right.)

Until the next wormhole…thanks for reading!

OK, did everyone who didn’t want spoilers leave? Good.

[Who do you think Mr. Blake is?]

Not sure. I can’t think of anyone with Blake as a last name other than Donald Blake, aka Thor. Wouldn’t that be cool? A Marvel x DC crossover.

More realistically…maybe Martian Manhunter. I suppose Mr. Jones would be too obvious. Maybe one of the evil Legion of Superheroes. Superman is supposed to fight them soon and the Legion and Superboy go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Whoever he is I’m sure I’ll be facepalming and calling myself stupid once it’s revealed.
