Let’s deal with the elephant in the room right away. I’m probably going to get grief from this, but I thought the Fortnite versions of the LEGO Ninjago characters weren’t too bad. I am not that big of a fan of Ninjago; but what I do know of it, Epic seemed to capture the personalities of Kai, Cole, Zane, and Jay in their non-LEGO forms. They looked mostly like how I pictured them, as non-LEGOs, when I watched the show.
However, I can see why people wouldn’t like them. It is hard to see your favorite character…changed. It’s kind of like seeing Batman with a gun. You feel betrayed or not listened to. I agree that maybe they could have kept their yellow skin. That is part of the appeal of LEGO. The characters could be white, Asian, Latin American, whatever you want them to be.
But, they still look cool, and I’m sure Epic Games got the OK from LEGO. Also, this is just one version of them. These Fortnite versions are…snapshots. Probably why Epic Games calls the skins “snapshots” within the game. These are not the real characters but a thing created by the Zero Point (aka Epic Games).
As for the Ninjago update to Fortnite: Odyssey, it wasn’t bad.
Don’t forget to drink some water, stretch, and take a break.

As a special note: I haven’t played Odyssey for a long time, so a lot of the features were “new to me.”
It was nice to see a village already established. I didn’t feel like I was starting from scratch. I didn’t feel like it was an empty land with only hostile mobs and me.
I’m not going to lie; I did not expect the spinjitzu attack to last forever or be as powerful. I expected it to be powerful, like a special move or signature move, but I thought it would only last for a few seconds, or at the very least have a cooldown. I rarely used my weapons.
Some of the crafting was a bit annoying. It’d be nice if they had a “where to find it” feature. I guess they do, sort of. There is a tab that says things like, “Can be found using the forge” or “Can be found in the grasslands,” for some of the items. Some, like the ritual oil, it says it’s “Miscellaneous” and “Found on Ninjago Island.” Not exactly helpful.
I did like that there were quests right away. I didn’t spawn in and feel like, “Now what do I do?”
I also like that you can use the premade village equipment, like the stone cutter, or you can make your own. You still can place things pretty much wherever you want. The teleport back to the village feature is wonderful. I’m not walking and walking and walking.
The variety of foes (villains and beasts/monsters) and the ease at gathering resources seemed a lot better. The map is still massive and takes a moment to get accustomed too.
While Odyssey isn’t my favorite mode, the LEGO Ninjago update is enjoyable. I wanted to come back to it; I wanted to keep playing…I just also wanted to play Blitz or Battle Royale more.
