Game Review: MARVEL Cosmic Invasion

Take the streets and beyond as you protect the universe from Annihilus.

  • Love a good beat ‘em up, especially when it’s Marvel (or DC or Ninja Turtles)
  • There is some grinding levels; the bosses on later levels do get harder, but it is still possible to complete the level with a lower level character
  • Controls are simple; there isn’t a lot of wrong button pressing
  • Grinding for the collectables can be a little annoying
  • Has some good replay-ability
  • Wish that the characters blinked red to warn you they are low on health
  • Wish there were more healing items; it seemed like you’d go for long stretches without healing
  • Liked that it seemed certain characters were better for a level, but you still could chose what character you wanted and still be successful
  • Great writing on the dialogue; some good one-liners and quips
  • Very much like an old school arcade game; not a lot of health and tons of foes coming at you all at once

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

In a few words, describe what it is you are calling about.

Caller: I want to speak with my guardian angel.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t quite hear that. Please try again.

Caller: Guardian angel.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t quite hear that. Please try again.

Caller: I want. To speak. With a. GUARDIAN ANGEL!!

I’m sorry, I couldn’t quite make that out. Let’s start from the beginning.

Thank you for calling Heaven. If this is an emergency, please hang up and dial your local priest…

Caller: (sigh) I think I called the wrong number.
