Daily writing prompt
Have you ever regretted reading a book — which one and why?

I’d have to say The King in Yellow by R.W. Chambers. No, I’m kidding, I never read it, which makes sense considering supposedly anyone who reads it descends into madness–the fictional play within the book called The King in Yellow, not the actual book. I mean, if the actual book caused people to go insane, it’d be pulled off the shelves…right?

But, you know, why take chances.

But after watching the videos Tale Foundry has done about the book, and there have been a few, it kinda makes me want to read it. So maybe the question is not “what book have I read and regretted it” but “what book have I not read and regretted it.”

I might have to read it, especially with it popping up everywhere now. I thought it was just a Tale Foundry thing; but apparently, it is nearly everywhere, including TV shows.

Since it’s in public domain, I get tempted to have my own story about it. Another reason to read it. Although, do I want to tempt fate? Do I want to take the chance that I will become crazy? Meh, I’m a writer. I’m already crazy, hee-hee.

Until the next wormhole…thanks for reading!
