“Hey, Yo’gthèth, the Many-Eyed! Look what I got you! Economy sized, extra strength eye drops!”
“Always remember to keep eye contact when speaking to him.”
“Which one? He has 200.”
When picking out a name for your eldritch god, imagine yourself calling them from the porch. Do you really want to be shouting, “Zi’gth-ra, the Undying! Come here, boy!”?
Remember to show them who the alpha is. Stay firm, no matter how much they whine or cause you to fall into madness.
“No, wait for it. Wait for it…OK, you can go destroy Arkham now.”
Make sure they know they are loved and wanted.
“Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good ineffable manifestation of chaos and existential dread? You are! Yes you are!”
Positive reinforcement and praise is key.

And if all else fails: try reading a training book.
“Excuse me sir, do you have any copies of The Necronomicon?”
